About the Practice

Johnson County Spine is committed to excellence in the treatment of patients with spinal disorders. New patients are evaluated by Dr. Hess. Every effort is made to treat the patient non-surgically. Treatment modalities may include physical therapy and epidural steroid injections. If surgery becomes necessary, the patient will receive the finest surgical care available.

Dr. Hess performs procedures that are on the cutting edge of spinal surgery, including artificial lumbar disc implantation. Dr. Hess is also one of only a few spinal surgeons in the United States to be selected as an investigator for the DePuy Spine (a Johnson & Johnson company) Discover™ Artificial Cervical Disc FDA Clinical Trial. In addition, Dr. Hess is trained in the implantation of the Charité Artificial Lumbar Disc.
